Summer Gratitude Tour!
We're coming up on our 20 year anniversary of creating peace through bathing! Can you believe it? As September 15th approaches, I've been reflecting on all the miracles and angels that came together to get Shepard Moon here. I'm overwhelmed with gratitude of how blessed we've been throughout this amazing journey. And what stands out most, is the tremendous amount of help, support and kindnesses from so many people at just the right time. It's truly been a fairy tale ride and spiritual journey. I can't begin to thank all the generous folks that got us here.......But I'm sure as heck going to try! So I'm hitting the road to personally thank as many of the staff and stores (new and old) that have supported Shepard Moon since 1999!
Just a ferry ride away! Town & Country Market & Poulsbo Central Market
An early morning ferry ride to beautiful Bainbridge Island is my kind of 'work day'. So off I went to go hang with Shawna and Carissa at Bainbridge Island's Town & Country Market. T&C Bainbridge brought us in when I still couldn't believe that this thing called 'Shepard Moon Concoctions' was really going to be something. And if it was,......well I sure as heck wasn't sure I had the skills to lead it. That was 2005. But not only did it work, it's been a great fit and over the years as we've partnered with their amazing wellness staff and commited-to-supporting-local head buyers, I can see why this has been such a wonderful collaboration. This is truly a company that has a history founded in integrity, partnership, community and overcoming obsticles by staying tethered to its core values. Read about their history here and you'll not only come to love the store but you're faith in business' who operate with a strong sense of values will be restored by who Town and Country is as a company.
Willowtree Market, Bainbridge Island
My next stop was just a five minute walk away from Town & Country. One of our biggest blessings is working with Mountain Sales Northwest as our sales reps. When choosing a brokerage to rep our products, it was most important to choose a company that's more concerned about integrity and putting "good products with good companies" and making sure that it's a relationship that works for both companies. As much as I'm happy about opening new accounts, it's the re-orders and relationships we build overtime that means much more. And for that you need a like-minded sales staff who work with integrity. So when Lilliana told me about Willowtree Market, I just had to go experience if for myself.
This place is wonderful and whether or not they decide to carry Shepard Moon products or not, experiencing their store is something I am super grateful for. What a cool store! If you get a chance, you should definitely stop by. As soon as I walked in, I could 'feel' it. Small and thoughtfully laid out, this unique market carries everything from vitamins and nutrients, a wonderful variety of herbs and teas displayed behind the register, books and hand-made gifts that my mom would describe as 'woo-woo. It's totally my kind of place! The most amazing part was the room filled with chrystals, smudge sticks, candles and incense. The energy and vibration was palatable. I had a wonderful connection with Nicole, the store manager and was able to talk about the energetics of our products and how we intentionally make them. It was awesome. I don't often get the opportunity to share that part of Shepard Moon. So thanks Willlowtree. May you be as blessed on your path as we've been on ours!
Central Market Poulsbo!
Still reveling in the great connection I had with Shawna and Carissa from Town and Country and checking out Willowtree Market it was time to light another incense cone and chant my way up the road to Poulsbo's Central Market to thank their amazingly supportive staff. Just 23 minutes up the road from downtown Winslow, on Bainbridge Island, Poulsbo's Central Market is the grand-daddy of the Town & Country / Central Markets chain as far as Natural Bodycare sections go. It's HUGE! And we've been super blessed by selling a ton of salts every year since 2003. Sixteen years can be a parent's worst nightmare but in business it's a tight partnership of mututal love and respect. I was super grateful to have some time to connect with John and Sarah, two of this store's knowgeable and supportive staff. It was a fun enthusiastic meeting where we talked about all sorts of things related to bathing and healing!
Thank you citizans of Poulsbo for the thousands of baths you've taken over the years. No wonder it's so peaceful and beautiful over here!
Port Townsend Food Co-op
Port Townsend is another must see when traveling through the peninsula. And it's my experience that in every cool little town there is an equally cool, community co-op. And that's certainly the case with Port Townsend. So more incense and chanting another 40 minutes north to visit and bless the Port Townsend Co-op. I haven't been here in years and I don't think it's just the 'incense' talking when I say that you can really feel the 'heartbeat' of this waterfront town within the co-op. Port Townsend Co-op doesn't currently carry our products but whenever we're working with a store about possibly bringing us in, I like to visit it in person to see if it seems like a good fit and what Shepard Moon products might best support their current offerings. And this definitely seems to be in our wheelhouse. So stay tuned Port Townsend. We'd love to be a part of your wonderful community!
Shepard Moon's Gratitude Tour Week 2: Vashon Thriftway
One of the great things about summer in beautiful Western Washington is riding ferries. So another gorgeous day and another ferry ride means another wonderful store to thank for carrying our products. This week it's the Vashon Thriftway, who is relatively new to Shepard Moon and this was my first trip over to see them in person. Thank you Sandy from Mountain Sales for opening this awesome account and thank you Leslie for taking time out to connect with me and talk about our products. There's something very peaceful about the nature of island living that nourishes my soul and I can see why this new partnership seems to be growing and working well since we began a year ago. Thank you Vashon Thriftway for taking a chance on us and gratitude and blessings to all you wonderful Vashon residents who have bought our products. We are truly grateful to be a part of your community and look forward to serving you for years to come!
